Taking inspiration from Iggy Pop’s poem, the harpist created an original composition based on “the cadence in his voice — the rhythmical side, and the melodic side,” then combined it with a recording of Iggy Pop’s spoken word. The poem itself, Mom & Dad, was written several years ago by Iggy Pop after the passing of his parents. “The poem is about searching for balance in life,” says Lavinia Meijer. “On one hand, you are searching for your own happiness — whether that’s music, a career, or other things — but at the same time searching for balance with people very close to you, and staying close to your roots as well.” Directed by Robin de Puy.
