Diefenbach is regarded as the “forefather of alternative movements“ and one of the most important champions of the Lebensreform, the Freikörperkultur and the peace movement, rejecting monogamy and religion, and meat – he was a vegan, living in harmony with nature with three children , named Helios (the Sun), Stella (the Star), and Lucidus (the Shining One).
