Little solo trip into the mountains. First stop I checked out a well preserved miner's cabin dating to the 1930s. Lots of cool artifacts in and around it including a bullet ridden Chevy 5700 truck. The mine complex that I visited operated between 1896 and 1916 and I'm sure was worked sporadically since then. Gold and copper were the main commodities to come out of it. While scouring the hills looking for other holes to check out I came across a piece of metal debris with rivets and later a canonplug, tell tale signs of an aircraft crash! I investigated further and found quite a bit more chunks, leading me to the believe this was a military aircraft that most likely went down during a training exercise. A later trip is in the books to check out the other nearby hills and see if I can't find more clues.
