This Élévation, Cromhorne en Taille is in the 'Livre d'Orgue de Limoges', a very fine collection of French baroque organ pieces, mostly from anonymous composers. This piece however is from Gaspard Corrette, it is also part of his 'Messe du 8e Ton', but has some very small differences. I played the piece on the beautiful Jean Boizard organ (1714), stationed in the beautiful monastery of Saint-Michel-en-Thiérache. Gaspard Corrette was a French organist and composer and is mostly known for being the father of the more famous Michel Corrette. Not much is known about his life. He was probably born in Rouen, where he was organist. Later he moved to Paris. Sadly the only surviving organ work is the mass I mentioned, although luckily it has many parts. And yes, there is a towel on the desk :). I forgot to remove it in front of the camera. It was around 33℃ when I filmed this, so I was in need of a towel now and then... Sample set by Sonus Paradisi: Sheet music by Pierre Gouin: :ReverseLookup/274131 It means a lot to me if you subscribe to this channel. It's also possible to become a member of this channel:
