Beslan Airfield 10 June 1955 0800 Comrades, a mutiny has occured at Tbilisi airfield. Commander Igor Maslennikov has been detained and all aircraft seized. It is not yet known how much support the mutiny has. However, local sources indicate growing unrest in the region and there are rumours of calls for Georgian independence. It is likely the mutiny is a result of this unrest. We cannot allow a force of this size to gain a foothold. Ground forces are being mobilised to move in and restore order. The decision has been made to strike the airfield and ensure seized aircraft cannot be used against our troops. Tbilisi is our main base in the region, as such our ability to respond is limited since the majority of our aircraft are stationed there. We are bringing reinforcements in from further North, the majority of which are expected to arrive overnight. In the meantime your flight of four MiG 15s will launch a strike on Tbilisi airfield. Take off RWY 08 and set heading 170 degrees over Beslan enroute Tbilisi. Commence attack at the earliest opportunity. How you choose to attack is up to your discretion. Primary Objective: Attack MiG 15 aircraft stationed at Tbilisi Secondary Objective: Attack personnel and equipment. The majority of these will be positioned in barracks on the North West section of the apron. CAUTION: This mission is at the limit of the MiG 15s range with bomb loadout. Conserve fuel enroute. You will only have 2-3 minutes in the combat zone. If you are held up any longer, land at Beslan on return. Threats: The airfield is defended by medium and large calibre anti aircraft guns positioned along the perimeter. The enemy are operating MiG 15 aircraft, they may have patrols in the area. Be alert and prevent them getting airborne if possible. Additional info: The airfield is also home to a small training detachment of I-16s, these are not priority targets. If you do engage in air to air combat, take great care to avoid friendly fire. Reports indicate the mutineers have removed all Soviet markings.
