Many of the marquee names in Democratic politics began quickly lining up behind Vice President Kamala Harris, but two towering figures in the party were conspicuously and purposefully absent: Barack Obama and nancy Pelosi. The former president has not yet endorsed Harris; in fact, he did not mention her once in his tribute to Joe Biden that was posted shortly after the President decided to bow out. Similarly, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi thanked Biden for his decades of public service and called him “one of the most consequential Presidents in American history”. But she too, made no mention of Kamala Harris.
