In this homage film celebrating the 10th anniversary of #OverTheGardenWall, a grown-up Wirt ventures back into the Unknown to find his missing brother Greg. 📺 Watch the other two films in the Tele-Vision Trilogy: 🔔 Subscribe for more creative films: For the 10th anniversary of OTGW, I had an idea a year ago for a story that pays tribute to Patrick McHale and his team who brought us the most endearing miniseries filled with love and depth. So I brought the story to my friends, many of whom are Over the Garden Wall fans and not even filmmakers, and together we produced this film. This is my own imagined story of what Wirt might be like as a grownup. I put myself in his (mismatched) shoes from a fan's perspective. And in my mind, no one but Patrick McHale could ever create a definitive sequel to Over the Garden Wall, which is why I present this film as an homage and not as a “canonical“ part of the story. Similar to the show, I hid Easter eggs and OTGW references all throughout the film. This is also the final short in my “Tele-Vision Trilogy,” a series of short fan films inspired by TV shows I love—Better Call Saul, Twin Peaks, and Over the Garden Wall. There's a thematic thread woven through all three, and if you watch them in order you'll notice a handful of fun themes they all share in common. Disclaimer: This film is not associated with Cartoon Network, is not for profit, and is presented strictly as fan art. If you haven’t already, please support Over the Garden Wall by purchasing or streaming it on Hulu. *In the credits, the title of Wirt’s poem should be “Far Away.” I mistyped, whoops. Much love! If you want a deeper breakdown of the process of making this film, leave a comment! I’d love to share.
