If you are new here, this is a little introduction to my channel. I would love it if you subscribed and clicked the notification bell so that you will never miss an episode. I am Kate and I post on Sunday evenings (GMT) when I have something interesting to share. That might be about sewing, cooking, knitting, my cats, hens and bees plus my goose Eileen! I have a little shop where you can find the things I create here in my cottage in Northumberland, plus some treasures from my creative friends. The monthly newsletter will keep you informed of shop updates, the charity donation I make each month with your Ad Revenue, plus the prize draw details where one person on the mailing list will win a gift from the shop. So when you pop over to see the website, be sure to sign up to the mailing list! I create extra content for my Patrons and you can check that out here. Every Friday there is a 'behind the scenes' video where you can Meet the Team who support me here or listen to a favourite reading, or see the crafts I am working on or meet my son John, who posts about his interesting life now and then in a series we call 'The Kestrel's Eye'. In addition, I post craft related videos and monthly chats where I talk about all the things that have been happening here in the last month. Support from Patrons allow this channel to continue and I am grateful for each and every one of you! Thank you! Anna, my daughter in law helps me here at The Last Homely House. She edited this video with all the little clips from the past year. I think she did a splendid job of capturing the seasons and the animals and my cosy home, She and I choose royalty free music from Epidemic Sound, this one is called: Bookmarks - Ever So Blue. JRR Tolkien is the inspiration for the name of my channel, with this quote from The Hobbit. This is what he says about Rivendell, the place where the elves live. 'It is a perfect house, whether you like food or sleep, or story-telling or singing, or just sitting and thinking best, or a pleasant mixture of them all. Merely to be there was a cure for weariness, fear and sadness' So with that idea of cosy friendliness, I invented the notion of The Lime Green Sofa where, in my imagination, you are all sitting in comfort, sharing your stories and craft ideas, enjoying the snacks and drinks that I pass down from time to time, all around the world in perfect harmony with one another. You can join the Virtual Lime Green Sofa on Facebook by searching for The Last Homely House where the lovely Admin Folk will welcome you. You can post your crafts and ideas on Instagram too and use the hashtag #lhhlgs where you can meet other like minded friends. There is even a Spotify playlist of all the Movie Soundtracks I love so much! Please check the Playlists where we have grouped together themed videos for you to enjoy. You could start with this one and find out why I love Liberty Fabric so much! Thank you for your interest in The Last Homely House. I look forward to spending time with you on My Sofa! take care Kate xxx
