What does it mean to return home unapologetically as yourself? “Coming Home” follows Alex Showerman, a lifelong Vermonter who spent her adult years in Waterbury mountain biking, trailbuilding, and advocating for her local trails. In 2020, she came out as a queer, trans woman, which led her west to pursue a full-time career as a freeride mountain biker. But every time she returns to her roots in Vermont, she reconnects with the Green Mountain State through fresh eyes, finding a new appreciation for the place that shaped her. In August of 2024, Alex returned home for another visit, but this time, with friends Brooklyn Bell and Hannah Bergemann in tow.
