DOWNLOAD LINKS: *MP3:* %28MP3% *FLAC:* %28FLAC% Originally created as part of a music mod that restores the the full, uncut, as originally intended by the original developers, JP soundtrack to the game. Every official release of the JP soundtrack either fades out the music early, uses the beta loops incorrectly, or cuts parts of the music out to make it is kind of baffling because the entire point of the beta loops was to make the music loop. The beta loops were removed from the final release due to the difficulty in getting the CD audio and the PCM audio synced correctly. Since we don't have that kind of limitation anymore all the beta loops have been restored and the soundtrack now loops and plays how it was always intended to. This uses the beta loops ripped directly from the game's ISO before the Sega CD's PCM chip has a chance compress the audio further thanks to Collision Chaos Radio. Most of the beta loops were then cleaned up by DeevDaRabbit to make these highly compressed audio files sound the best they can. The beta Special Stage theme has over two minutes of audio that was cut from the final release which I've added back to the final version. Because there are minor differences between the final and beta theme it shouldn't be looked at as the full, uncut version of the theme as originally intended by the original developers like the rest of the Japanese restorations and instead as another fun way to experience the JP Special Stage theme. In 1994 those that pre-ordered Sonic the Hedgehog 3 from Toys “R“ Us in the US received the exclusive music CD album Sonic the Hedgehog Boom. This album contained music from the US Sonic CD soundtrack and Sonic Spinball. However, the US Sonic CD music tracks weren't just straight copies of the music from the game. Many had extended intros, extra instruments and entirely unheard of sections. Unlike the Japanese soundtrack's beta loops, where we know how they were supposed to play, loop and the technical limitations that caused them to be removed, we know nothing about the extended bits from the Boom album or even if they meant to be used in the US soundtrack at all. For all we know they could have been created just for the album release. The only small clue that suggests the album tracks were going to be used in the US soundtrack comes from Stardust Speedway Bad Future, as the released version fades out right as a section exclusive to the album starts. Some of these exclusive parts from the album release were implemented into the 2011 Taxman release of the US soundtrack, but not all of it. As part of my Missing Music Restoration mod I've included as many of these exclusive album bits as I could as long as it didn't interfere with looping. Because we have no idea how the US album tracks were originally intended to be used my US restorations shouldn't be looked at as “official“ like my JP restorations and instead as just another fun way to experience Sonic CD's US soundtrack. *Fun fact #1:* According to the US manual the official name for the US soundtrack is “Special Edition for North America“. *Fun Fact #2:* The US manual also credits Pete Escovedo's “Mister E“ as the inspiration for Palmtree Panic. You can listen to it here: *Fun Fact #3:* Little Planet was originally the Present theme for a cut second level called Dubious Depths, though an earlier idea for the level's name was Ridicule Root. Masato Nishimura believes the level was cut due to not being able to fit the level's music on the disk. *Credits and Special Thanks:* Collision Chaos Radio: @CollisionChaos - For ripping the unused loops in the highest quality possible.
