During some downtime from life on the road, the Dirtwire trio brought their mind-bending instrumentation up to The Pinecone and debuted an unreleased song. The song was so new, in fact, that during b-roll captures, they were still ironing out the arrangement on the forest floor. Describing the music that Evan Fraser (ngoni), David Satori (guitarjo), and Mark Reveley (bass) create is no simple task. “Future revival, swamptronica, spaghetti-step or electro-twang” could all fit the bill. There are few bands akin to Dirtwire, with their instruments from all over the globe, instantly recognizable Caballero outfits, and boot-stomping, booty shaking shows that are difficult to top. The band recorded two songs in the fabled Pinecone: Steppegrass, seen here, and an off-the-cuff jaw-harp jam to be released at a later date.
