A major magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck a section of Alaska. And, an hour later, a powerful eruption occurred from the Shishaldin volcano. Are these two events related? This video discusses if this might be the case, while also mentioning why the earthquake in the Aleutian island chain occurred in the first place. Thumbnail Photo Credit: McGimsey, R.
