This animation describes the Transperineal Prostate Biopsies (TPBx) procedures with particular focus on Local Anesthetic Transperineal Prostate Biopsy (LATP). LATP is a better and cost-effective alternative to Transrectal Ultrasound Guided Biopsy (TRUSBx) to detect prostate cancer. It is safer for patients due to the low risk of complications, particularly urosepsis, and it is well tolerated. References 1. Stefanova V, Buckley R, Flax S, et al.
