Welwitschia of the Namib desert is truly a bizarre plant, a living fossil

This plant gets my vote for the strangest plant on the planet. It is a gymnosperm, like cycads and pines. Has only 2 leaves which grow throughout it's life, Cones instead of flowers and is thought to be able to live for 2,000 years. Amazing!
