Capture birds in flight with tack-sharp focus using foolproof techniques and camera settings. Here I show you my favourite techniques for photographing birds in flight. I start off with recommended camera settings for capturing flying birds in low light, then demonstrate how I adjust them as the sun rises and the light becomes brighter. Camera Settings: Shooting in manual mode, I aim to have 1/2000 shutter speed, f/7.1 or f/8 aperture and then keep my ISO on AUTO, as long as it doesn't go higher than 3200. This video also explains why I keep my image stabilisation / vibration reduction turned OFF, even when hand holding! Shoot on high continuous mode and use AI Servo (Canon) or AF-C (Nikon and other camera brands).
