Kennington Oval, London. Various shots of men sitting at desks and studying maps at a school set up by the British Legion for ex-servicemen who want to become taxi drivers. Their instructor, ex-Inspector Turner (late Scotland Yard) walks around talking to the men. On the South Bank we see the students with bicycles looking at maps spread out on the pavement and at London A-Z books. The large group cycle along the road, with the Houses of Parliament seen in the background. Two of the men who have stopped in Dean Trench Street look at their A-Z book. More shots of the men cycling around the area. Pan up to show Dean Bradley Street sign. Eight men get out of an old-fashioned taxi cab. A learner driver is tested on turning technique. A man instructs him while the others watch. Note: The Knowledge? FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
