A locomotive of the HIJSM, the Vesta, derailed on the bridge over the Warmonderlee, killing the driver. This location can be seen at 21:14. The accident turned out to have been caused because by the then movable bridge which was not properly locked. The Vesta crashed off the railway embankment, causing the driver, Adriaan Désiré Teyler van Hall, to become trapped under the machine and killed.
