After having given up on music entirely for 4 years, I've decided that music is too important to me to not be involved. I decided to turn the ideas that I had that were gathering dust into full-fledged songs, which resulted in this album being made. I've only been making music seriously for the past 3 months, but I think that in those 3 months I've come a long way, and in the process, discovered my voice as a musician. “Soul Searching“ is about this process. About the production of this album, it is important to note that I didn't use real guitars to record this album (I used a guitar to write and play along) because I do not own a guitar that can handle the tunings I used (drop F# for most songs), maintain tuning stability, and produce a good enough DI to be used in a recording setting. [However, all of these songs can be played on guitar (and are really fun to play as well!), and if there is any interest in tabs, I'll provide them for free!] For this reason, I'm grateful to Solemn Tones for creating an amazing product with their Odin 2 VST, as well as GetGood Drums for their Invasion kit, SubMission Audio for DjinnBass, and Neural DSP for guitar and bass tones. The only reason why this album exists is because I'm lucky to live in an age where these tools exist. Because of these tools, I was able to produce an album that sounds good enough to be competitive in this genre of music. Even if you don't end up buying the album, I'm still extremely grateful that you took the time to listen. Given the time in which this album was released (COVID-19, economic downturn), please do not feel pressured to spend money if you're struggling to make ends meet. Buying the album will help me continue making music, but I make music to connect with people and share my love for music. Ultimately, the well-being of the listener is more important. If you do end up buying the album, it means the world to me, I never would've thought that I would be making music like this in my lifetime, and it means even more that there are people willing to support me in the process.
