The body of Turkish-American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi was carried wrapped in the flag of Palestine, through the streets of Nablus, West Bank on Monday (September 9) in a memorial procession following her killing by Israeli forces. Mourners attending the procession held posters of her and banner reading, “May her blood pave the way to freedom.'' Eygi was shot and killed by Israeli forces on Friday (September 6), as she took part in a protest against settlement expansion in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, Palestinian and Turkish officials said. The procession comes ahead of Eygi's body being repatriated to Turkey.
