Claudia Balsamo was born near Palermo, Italy in 1960. In 2006 she participated in the first meeting between people with AIS on Lake Como and participated in the formation of AISIA (Associazione Italiana Sindrome di Insensibilità agli Androgeni). She served as AISIA's vice president until 2013. Most recently her advocacy brought her to present at the 'Notes of Rights and Freedom' sponsored by the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy.
