Russian/Nat German Chancellor Helmut Kohl has wrapped up his Russian trip with a visit to St Petersburg. Hundreds of thousands of residents of Leningrad - as the city was then called - perished during World War Two resisting the 900-day siege by German Nazi troops which reduced the city to starvation.
