These irregular plurals are great to practice for children with difficulties learning language and English learners. Music is a powerful tool for learning language! It boosts encoding and retrieving memories, both of which are needed to learn and use language. Music is engaging and often provides even more repetition than “drill and kill“ methods of repeating sentences multiple times. How to use this video: 1. Play the video (sing along if you're comfortable!) 2. Play the song again, pause before each irregular plural, and let the students fill them in. 3. Have students make their own sentences with each word to practice. 4. When there are irregular plural errors in their spontaneous speech, speak a line of the song and pause for them to fill it in (e.g. kid uses “childs“ = say “More than one child is ________“) Happy Teaching! -Emily Sadeghi, M.S.
