Transonic flow around the supercritical Onera OAT15a airfoil at Mach and 7 degrees angle of attack. The free stream state is that of air at sea level, the airfoil has a chord length of 23cm. The chord Reynolds number is about 3 million. Invariant-domain preserving compressible Navier-Stokes solver () based on the finite element toolkit (). The simulation was done with 8.5 million degrees of freedom (continuous Q1 finite elements) per component. About 1 million timesteps were performed to simulate a time interval of about 15ms. The simulation ran for 1.5 days on 16 compute noes with 512 MPI ranks. References:
