Kritya Ensemble is a 5 artist Indian classical dance and music troupe that present the art of Kuchipudi to its fullest. With a skillful combination of highly refined Kuchipudi dance and world-class live Indian Carnatic music, the Kritya ensemble offers spectators the pinnacle of the Kuchipudi experience - an exceedingly rare opportunity in today’s world. In modern times finding professional, classically trained, and highly skilled Carnatic musicians and Kuchipudi dancers is rare and having the funding necessary to support such ensembles is entirely unthinkable. Despite the inevitable struggles, this ensemble is working to preserve and promote this tradition and to bring more of these live music and dance performances to esteemed stages to not only propagate the Indian classical arts to diverse audiences but also to inspire young artists to continue the tradition so that it lives on for generations to come. The caliber and talent of each of the Kritya ensemble artists are exceptional. These young and dynamic artists exhibit impeccable command over their art. Because of their vigorous training, talent and dedication, the ensemble can disseminate so comprehensively the Indian classical art tradition. This dance performance tradition had the opportunity to evolve in the 15th century as traveling performance troupes were supported by royal patrons and rulers. Centuries later, the support of patrons who believe in preserving this art is still the only viable way to continue this work. With the challenges of covid, increased costs for airfare, and inflation, the ensemble requires monetary support to continue offering performances for the upcoming 2023 year. Your donations will support the work of the Kritya Ensemble for the 2023 year, which will include: - 3 original works of Carnatic music and Kuchipudi dance - A minimum of 5 performances - Rehearsals and music/dance composing sessions via Zoom - Music production for new Kuchipudi pieces - Film projects to capture and document the various works of the Ensemble so that it can be shared beyond local audiences and stages and to bring more visibility to traditional artists in the US. Your contributions will help cover the expenses of the 5 Kritya Ensemble artists, such as airfare and transportation, lodging and meals, audio and lighting rentals, film and music production, and a modest honorarium for each artist for performances. No donation is too small. Every contribution is a great help to support this endeavor! Every donor will receive exclusive updates, videos and pictures of our work and creative process, as well as priority access to various Kritya Ensemble performance videos. Thank you so much for your patronage! Donate here:
