* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Bakersfield, California — On March 18, 2023, at approximately 10:21 p.m., officers with the Bakersfield Police Department responded to a report of an adult male subject, armed with a knife, behaving erratically in the parking lot of a business in the 1500 block of White Lane. At 10:52 p.m., officers located the adult male in the 1500 block of White Lane armed with a possible knife. Officers attempted to contact the man; however, he fled on foot eastbound on White Lane. An additional responding officer made contact with the suspect in the 900 block of White Lane and the officer discharged his firearm at the suspect who was struck. Officers rendered medical aid to the man and he was transported to an area hospital by medical aid. A screwdriver was recovered at the shooting scene.
