In his younger years, he became the youngest Wu-Tang affiliate at the time. After moving to Staten Island from Brooklyn as a child, Shyheim spent time living with Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah in the Stapleton Houses. He became affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan and released his first single, “On and On,“ in 1994. He gained fans and won accolades for his Virgin Records debut, AKA the Rugged Child. It included hit single “On and On“, and the album rose to #7 on the US Billboard R&B chart. He released another album in 1996, The Lost Generation, which featured members of G.P. Wu and Brooklyn Zu.
