The Robert Faurisson International Prize, a private luncheon ceremony held annually on the birthday of the late revisionist scholar Professor Faurisson (25th January) in Vichy, France, was targeted dramatically by an extraordinary Mayoral banning order. The determined organisers overcame this obstacle to the freedom of private assembly. This video records the occasion, maintained in the face of adversity – footage was captured simply using phones, as unlike 2019 there was no possibility of high quality filming. The situation was reminiscent of George Orwell's novel “1984“: with a private lunch meeting forced to be held in secret under the constant threat of being broken up by the police as an 'illegal' gathering. Presented by Lady Michèle Renouf, culminating in the announcement by Prize founder Joe Fallisi of the 2020 Prizewinner, a Frenchman presently in exile.
