Becoming Margot Fonteyn

Margaret Hookham was born on May 18, 1919 in Surrey, England. She would become an extraordinary and beloved classical ballerina. Her career would span from 1934 to 1979. As a dancer for England's Royal Ballet, she would put British ballet on the map and be named “Prima Ballerina Assoluta.“ She would become Margot Fonteyn.
