In LiBai’s famed “Hard is the Road to Shu,“ he composed, “For forty-eight thousand years, few travelers chose, No link with Qin’s frontier, no life’s daily clamor.“ This verse, to many, portrays Sichuan’s early days, Secluded from the world, so distant, far away. But unknown to many, in ancient times of yore, when Shu did reign, connections with the other regions on the vast of land of China were not in vain.
