“Carta di Contratado“ é uma morna (género tradicional das ilhas de Cabo Verde, celebrizado por Cesária Évora) é uma carta escrita por um filho das ilhas emigrado, à sua mãe, falando da “saudade“ da sua terra natal, da sua mãe , da sua amada (“cretcheu“) e a tristeza de viver longe deles, longe da pátria e de todo o amor que o cercava. Carta di Contratado is a morna (tradition genre form the islands of Cabo Verde, made famous by Cesaria Évora) and the lyrics are beautiful letter written from a son of the islands to his mother, speaking of his “saudade“ (longing) his homeland, his mother, his loved one (“cretcheu“) and the sadness of living far away of them, far away from the homeland and all the love he used to be surrounded by.
