Coretti Arle-Tits came to Russia with a musical tour group in 1904. During the tour she married a pianist Boris Tits and changed her name. She stayed in Russia and took voice classes in St. Petersburg. She became a Russian pop and opera singer. During the Civil War she performed for the Red Army soldiers. In 1920s she performed in Leningrad as a jazz singer. In 1945 she played a part of the old Negro nanny in the Soviet movie “Fifteen-Year Old Captain.“ Here she sings a lullaby in the movie.
