Help support this channel with some ship shape merch! The RMS Empress of Britain, launched June 11, 1930, was the largest, fastest, and most luxurious ocean liner to service the Europe to Canada route. She was also one of the first liners designed to serve as a cruise ship in the winter. While she wasn't a major commercial success during her short career, she earned a small but loyal following who loved her spaciousness and beauty. But World War 2 brought the great liner a premature end, making her the largest ship ever sunk by a German u-boat.
