Thank you for watching! These patchwork bags were mainly made in 19-20th century. The materials they used were often remnants of silk crape Kimono fabric called ‘Chirimen (縮緬)’. In this video, I used some cotton quilting fabric, hand sewing thread (size 30) and a general hand sewing needle. You can use a sewing machine too. If you’re making a larger bag, it would be a good idea to add some interfacing.
