Over 10 million coronavirus cases in Russia after disastrous fourth wave of Covid-19

It comes after a devastating fourth wave of infections spread through the country for three months, resulting in the deadliest month to date – October when 74,839 people died. Today infections still exceed 29,000 new cases a day, but are trending downward as the government rushes to head-off a potential new wave fuelled by the spread of the latest Covid-19 variant, Omicron.
