33-year-old Wyoming mother of two Katie Ferguson was reported missing on November 2nd, 2023 after family had not heard from her since she departed on a road trip with her ex and father of her children, Adam Aviles. After an 8 year on-again-off-again tumultuous relationship, they had broken up in May 2023 and Katie had moved to Alabama with her mother and daughters to get some distance from him. Just three months later, she called him to come and get them. Her family last saw her in October 2023. Police reports say that law enforcement had noticed bullet holes in the side of the door and that Katie was last with him on October 5th, 2023; after that, Adam was the only adult in the car. Their four year old daughter told the police that her dad “accidentally hurt“ her mom.
