Witness gifted young pianists take to the stage and learn from a faculty of esteemed pedagogues. We offer all our livestreams free of charge. Please consider making a gift to support the Oxford Piano Festival, so we can continue to do so in future years: What's on at the Festival: Mendelssohn • Rondo capriccioso, Op. 14 Mendelssohn • I. Andante con moto in E major from Songs Without Words, Book 1 Op. 19b Mendelssohn • II. ‘On Winds of Song’ from Six Songs for Voice and Piano, Op. 34 (tr. Achron) Mendelssohn • I. Andante espressivo in G major from Songs Without Words, Book 5 Op. 62 (arr. Kreisler) Mendelssohn • Song Without Words in D major for Cello and Piano, Op. 109 Beethoven • Piano Trio in G major, Op. 1 No. 2 Brahms • Piano Trio No. 2 in C major, Op. 87 Braimah Kanneh-Mason violin Sheku Kanneh-Mason cello Jeneba Kanneh-Mason piano Britain’s most talented siblings come to the Sheldonian Theatre for a variously configured concert taking in the momentum and lyricism of Mendelssohn. Eventually, all three Kanneh-Masons unite for two staples of the piano trio literature. First they bring us the gentle giant among Beethoven’s piano trios: the G major work that offers a rare portrait of Beethoven at his most untroubled and serene. Next comes a trio spawned by Brahms at the peak of his powers, a work of Olympian prowess and virile heroism that ultimately channels the same joy animated by Beethoven. Don’t miss this remarkable trio of musicians who have been playing together since childhood. This livestream will be available to watch on-demand for 28 days after initial broadcast. Filmed by Apple and Biscuit at Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford. #OPF23
