Paul Manz (1919-2009) was one of the preeminent sacred musicians of the 20th century, particularly associated with the Lutheran Church. A Fulbright scholar, Manz studied with both Helmut Walcha and Flor Peeters. His choral and organ works continue to be widely performed. Manz's lyrical, tuneful and poignant “Aria“ remains a classic of the American organ repertoire, performed here by Dr. Homer A. Ferguson III, organist/choirmaster, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Southern Pines, NC on the C.B. Fisk, Inc. Opus 145, pipe organ. If you have enjoyed this video, please subscribe and share.
