Geminor UK and DFDS, two leading names in secondary fuel recovery and logistics, have partnered to launch this film showcasing the export journey of refuse-derived fuel (RDF). The video follows the journey of a single shipment of RDF from production at the Enva depot in Nottingham, to recovery at Renova’s energy from waste (EfW) facility in Sweden. Geminor and DFDS work together to manage the recovery of more than 250,000 tonnes of secondary fuels every year. According to our UK Country Manager, James Maiden, the UK’s EfW infrastructure continues to expand and demand currently surpasses capacity. As such, export is essential to prevent the unnecessary landfilling of valuable resources. Launching a film to explain the international RDF logistics journey aims to not only educate, but also showcase the benefits of supplying fuel for Scandinavia’s district heating network.
