In the wake of a devastating storm, an East Asheville community is clinging to hope as they continue to search for a man who was last seen being swept down a river on the roof of his home. Crumbled debris, mud, dirt, rocks, and rubble are all that remain of Driftwood Court, where at least ten homes were washed away during the storm. Among the displaced residents is Mary Moss, who described the harrowing experience. Among those still missing is one of Moss’s neighbors. Law enforcement has not confirmed the missing man’s identity, but friends describe him as being in his sixties with white hair, a white goatee, and pale blue eyes. “If anybody’s seen him, Lynn McFarland, please let somebody know. We’re all trying to find out what happened to him,“ Moss pleaded. _______________ Follow WLOS on social media: WLOS ABC 13 News on Facebook: WLOS ABC 13 News on Twitter: WLOS ABC 13 News on Instagram: Subscribe to WLOS on YouTube: Listen to AnchorMOMS, the Podcast: Watch more top local news stories: For all of the day’s top local and national news, visit Watch our live newscasts and other live video at Have a news tip?
