In this 3ds Max & TyFlow tutorial I'll show you how to create a knitting / stitching simulation using basic splines that are arranged in a knit pattern. I'll first start off with ways to create hatched thread patterns using MCG SimpleWeave () Modified Version downloadable here: And then we can use a tyFlow simulation to create splines using a tysplines operator set to trajectory mode with a force operator. Alternatively you can use a plane object that is converted into splines using the tyMeshToSplines TyFlow Modifier as your starting splines for the final tyflow weave simulation. You could do this manually of course - but this way helps make it more non-destructive and provides a procedural modeling workflow. Once we have splines that are arranged into a weaved pattern, we can put them into our knitting tyflow simulation and use a su
