‘Skuggsjá’ was originally conceived as a commissioned musical work written by Ivar Bjørnson and Einar Selvik. The arrangement was performed by ENSLAVED and WARDRUNA as a concert piece in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Norwegian constitution at the Eidsivablot festival in Eidsvoll, Norway on September 13th, 2014. By highlighting ideas, traditions and instruments of their Norse past, SKUGGSJÁ speak of the history of Norway and reflect relevant aspects from the past into our present day. Using metal instrumentation as well as some of Scandinavia’s oldest instruments and poetry in Norse and Norwegian, ‘Skuggsjá’ represents a fusion between past and present, both lyrically and musically. #einarselvik #skuggsja #ivarbjornson Order here ► Skuggsjá on Nordic Music Merch ► 00:00 - Intro: Ull Kjem 02:17 - Skuggsjá 08:54 - Makta Og Vanæra, For All Tid 19:22 - Tore Hund 23:09 - Rop Fra Røynda - Mælt Fra Minne 28:52 - Skuggeslåtten (instrumental) 35:37 - Kvervandi 42:04 - Vitkispá 47:25 - Bøn Om Ending, Bøn Om Byrjing 57:58 - Outro: Ull Gjekk 1:00:10 - Skaldens Song Til Tore Hund 1:03:11 - Quantum Pasts Follow Ivar Bjørnson & Einar Selvik Follow By Norse: ------------- By Norse is a platform to support Norse and Nordic related art, Music, literature, film and culture.
