Lucchini P207 Prototype w/ BMW 3.0 Straight-6 Engine in action at Monza Circuit!

Lucchini Engineering was an Italian sports car constructor and racing team born in 1980 and which ceased its activity in 2010. Their cars were mainly open-cockpit prototypes for use in hillclimbs (in particular sold to privateer teams) as well as Le Mans Prototypes for endurance racing. With their famous Lucchini SR2001 and 2002 they managed to win the constructor championship in the SR2 class of the FIA Sportscar championship in 2002 and 2003. The car shown in this video should be a modified Lucchini P207 (or P2-07) driven by Claudio Francisci during the 2021 Master Tricolore Prototipi, an Italian championship reserved to sport prototypes. It's powered by a BMW N/A inline-6 engine, in particular it should be a modified version of the S50B30 engine you can find on the Euro-Spec BMW M3 E36. Hillclimb prototypes powered by this engine are still largely used nowdays but it was mainly known, and probably introduced for the first time, on the Osella PA20/S, a car built in the '90s for the CN hillclimb
