Item title reads - The Japanese earthquake - in continuation of our previous edition - the first pictures to be (rest of title is obscured by timecode). Intertitle - 'Owing to Martial Law the camera had to be concealed.' M/S of the car containing the camera and two men, they are holding bundles of bedding. Various shots of the wreckage filmed from the moving car, people walk past with their possessions. Intertitle - 'Some buildings - mainly those of concrete - withstood the repeated shocks.' Various shots of the buildings which are still standing, they have cracks in. Intertitle - 'Thousands were killed in the collapse of the great Fuji Cotton Spinning Works.' M/S of the rubble, some walls still partially stand. Intertitle - 'An almost endless and pitiful panorama of devastation.'
