Uncertified DAGs Under the Lens: Low-Latency High-Performance BFT Protocols

Доклад на английском языке. This seminar delves into the cutting-edge advancements in uncertified DAG-based consensus protocols designed for the partially synchronous model. We will discuss three recent protocols that build a round-based DAG using a quorum clock: Cordial Miners, Mysticeti, and Starfish. Cordial Miners proposed an efficient commit rule for leader blocks that utilizes the structure of an uncertified DAG. Mysticeti incorporates pipelining of leader blocks and allows for multiple leaders in one round, reducing the latency. Finally, building on the previous works, Starfish integrates Reed-Solomon erasure coding and Data Availability Certificates to optimize data dissemination. This design of Starfish enables efficient push-based block broadcasting and allows for achieving linear communication complexity for large transaction data. We will also explore the experimental evaluation of these protocols under steady-state and Byzantine scenarios and discuss their practical deployments. Дата записи: 07 мая 2025.
