Giacomo Lauri-Volpi sings a short part of “Credeasi Misera“ from Bellini's I Puritani, including the infamous high F. I chanced upon this recording a year or two ago, and I don't know any closer about it, so I would greatly appreciate, if somebody could provide more information (the date, location, etc.) about this particular recording. (Furthermore, I did not edit, cut, etc. the sound file, all I did was to make a video in order to upload it.) ***Update*** Some insist that it's Antonio Pirino, but please read the very first comment from Warnie1, who explained the little bit strange circumstances of this particular recording. I decided to add his comment to the description, because not everybody reads the comments, or what's worse, some people only read the comment that states it's Antonio Pirino. So here is Warnie's enlightening comment: “Lauri Volpi recorded this at his home in 1959 when he was in his late sixties and retired from the stage. It was issued privately on Edward J. Smith's “Golden Age of Opera“ series back in the 1960's. Now, here's the the unfortunate truth about this performance. Smith sped up the recording to raise the Volpi is only singing a high D or E flat. Other recordings from this period show his voice to be heavier and with a wider vibrato than heard here. Still, Lauri Volpi is the king!!!“
