Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire. M/S in a bank staffed entirely by some very young-looking men. A young man at the counter tries to cash a cheque and is told to sign it; C/U of the cheque being signed. The boy behind the counter stamps it and then counts out some invisible bank notes for him! Commentator explains this is the Training College for the National Provincial Bank and the customers and clerks are all trainees. The clerks and 'customers' then all change places so they all get some banking practise. Another young man tries to cash a cheque; the lad behind the counter takes it to a superior who checks the signature against one in a large book. This lad is also seen counting out invisible bank notes. M/S of the trainer giving some help to a young trainee who is adding up a wadge of cheques. C/U of some cheques and a receipt book being stamped before being handed back to the 'customer'. Note: print used for telecine transfer is quite badly scratched; mute neg is incomplete. On file
