For the first time, Rostec tested the latest domestic armor plate designed to protect stationary objects from shrapnel and bullets. This product was developed at the Steel Research Institute of our Kalashnikov Concern . During the tests, the sample withstood, without a single penetration, bullets from 9x19 mm 7N21 cartridges and fragments of an F-1 grenade, detonated at a distance of just over half a meter. The armor panel is made of a combination of various materials and guarantees Br3 class protection from bullets, that is, from almost any pistol. The class of protection against fragments is C-2. It implies armor resistance capable of containing the damaging elements of hand grenades RGD-5, RGN, RGO, etc. The weight per square meter of the product is less than 30 kg. Such plates were developed to protect particularly important facilities (oil and gas storage facilities, ammunition depots, energy infrastructure facilities, etc.), including from attacks by drones.
