Laser lithotripsy of a large gallstone. ⁣ ⁣ Sometimes a drain has to be placed into the gallbladder due to gallstone pain. However if the patient can’t get their gallbladder removed they can get stuck with the drain for the rest of their life 😮 This affects not only a patients quality of life but also the family, who often become the caregivers 🙁 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ When surgical removal of the gallbladder is not an option these stones can be removed by a trained Interventional Radiologist 👨🏽‍⚕️ as an outpatient procedure.
