Since then, Chinese companies have participated in the construction of projects in the fields of fisheries, mining, energy and infrastructure in the African country, boosting economic and social development. In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's He Yanke sat down with Denis Sassou Nguesso, president of the Republic of the Congo, during his state visit to China. Sassou also attended the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held from September 4 to 6 in Beijing. With the Republic of the Congo taking over as the African co-chair of FOCAC, Sassou says his country and others in Africa pin their hopes on Chinese President Xi Jinping's 10 partnership initiatives in the next three years, thus advancing modernization on the African continent and building a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.
