Launceston is the second largest city in Tasmania, and historically is quite old as it was the third settlement made in Australia by the Europeans in 1806. It is also the 5th largest inland city in Australia with a population of around 90,000. The walking tour starts off in the heart of Launceston in St Johns Street and explores some of the sights of the city center, followed by a hike up to the Cataract Gorge, a trip across the Gorge on the charlift, a walk back into town, finishing up at the City Park. This walking tour was shot in early 2019, well before COVID, and was shot in HD. It was a nice day for walking around Launceston, which being a mostly flat city means it is easy to get around by foot. Enjoy this small but charming part of Australia.
